Dr. Yong Jin Kim is the most renowned surgeon of morbid obesity in Korea, was recently selected as Korea’s first ‘Master Surgeon’ from SRC, USA. SRC (Surgical Review Corporation), established in 2003, is a global surgical operation accreditation organization. Currently, he is the head of the metabolic & bariatric surgery center at H Plus Yangji Hospital. Dr. Yong Jin Kim is also an expert in the upper gastrointestinal tract, laparoscopic surgery. Considering the safety of the patient and the success of surgery, he always thoroughly investigates and evaluates the patients’ illness, personal medical history, and other associated underlying diseases before performing a surgery. Dr. Yong Jin Kim gained his Ph.D. at the Soon Chun Hyang University and became a professor at the department of general surgery and Head, Metabolic& Bariatric Surgery Center, Soon Chun Hyang University Hospital Seoul. Also, he is a visiting professor at the IRCAD Taiwan Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery and World Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Club. Dr. Kim is the 5th surgeon to be selected as ‘Master Surgeon’ in Asia, along with Taiwan and India. However, Dr. Kim has already been recognized as the world’s leading surgeon for bariatric surgery for morbid obesity. He began to perform surgical operations in 2009 after he finished training at Faulkner Hospital and Brigham Hospital, teaching affiliates of Harvard Medical School. For the past ten years, Dr. Kim has performed more than 2000 cases of bariatric surgeries and is the most experienced surgeon in the field. In addition to his work, he actively carried out research studies and published numerous articles, and actively support by sharing his knowledge with the community by participating in international conferences across countries.
