Dr. Ali Jafarian has a strong educational background with a M.D., board certification in general surgery, and a certificate in Vascular Surgery from Tehran University of Medical Sciences. In the same institution, he completed his residency program and took short fellowship courses locally and internationally, during which he became skilled in medical education, liver transplantation, hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, human islet transplantation, and medical ethics. Dr. Ali Jafarian is a general surgeon at Atieh Hospital and serves as a general surgery professor at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences. He is also a member of several organizations, including the Iranian Board of General Surgery from August 2015 to the present, the Council of Evaluation of State Education from November 2013 to the present, the Board of Trustees of Tehran University of Medical Sciences from October 2017 to the present, and the Advisor to the Minister of Health and Medical Education in Iran from October 2017 to the present. In addition to that, he was a former dean of medicine from 2008–2009 and chancellor of Tehran University of Medical Sciences from 2013–2017.
