Dr. Arzu Tiftikci is a popular health care provider in Turkey, currently associated with the Gastroenterology Department of Acibadem Maslak Hospital, Istanbul. Her clinical interest lies in diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy, treatment of Crohn’s Disease and Colitis, motility disorders (esophagus HRM, Anal HRM), achalasia, pelvic floor disorders, Inflammatory bowel diseases, viral hepatitis, and Liver Cirrhosis. Dr. Arzu Tiftikci is a highly qualified Gastroenterologist with a brilliant educational background. She completed her graduation from Marmara University, Faculty of Medicine, in 1994. Later during 1997-2001, she obtained her Specialist degree from the Department of Internal Medicine, Haydarpasa Numune Training and Research Hospital, followed by a Master’s Degree from Marmara University Institute of Gastroenterology. In 2006, Dr. Arzu Tiftikci acquired Gastroenterology Specialization Training from Marmara University. She also went abroad to gather more experience and polish her skills. She received training from Amsterdam Medical Center, Motility Lab, Holland, and Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Motility Lab, Chicago, USA. With her accomplished career and command of her field, she is also a Fellow of the European Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Before her association with Acibadem in 2009, Dr. Arzu Tiftikci has served at various hospitals of Turkey, including Haydarpasa Numune Training and Research Hospital, Marmara University Gastroenterology Institute, Iskenderun State Hospital, and Gaziantep Islahiye Health Center. In addition to this, she is also an active member of the European Association for the Study of the Liver, the Turkish Medical Association, the Turkish Gastroenterology Association, the Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Association, and the Turkish Liver Research Association. Dr. Arzu Tiftikci has successfully presented various research papers on Hepatocellular cancer, pathogenesis and diagnosis, Viral hepatitis and adipocytokines, and Relationship between Helicobacter pylori prevalence, virulence, and oncogenicity.
