Dr. Bon Hyuk Koo is currently one of the Director of Shine & Bright Eye Center, Seoul South Korea. Dr. Bon Hyuk Koo finished his residency and internship at Central Veterans Hospital for ophthalmology.  Dr. Bon Hyuk Koo is a Regular member of the Korean Society of External Eye Surgery (KEEDS) ophthalmologist.

Dr. Bon Hyuk Koo is one of the best ophthalmologists in South Korea with experties in the field of Cataract and Myopia and astigmatism.  Myopia and astigmatism are both common eye conditions that can affect a person's vision.

Myopia, also known as nearsightedness, occurs when the eye is too long, or the cornea is too curved. This causes light to focus in front of the retina, rather than on it, resulting in blurred vision when looking at objects in the distance. Myopia can often be corrected with eyeglasses or contact lenses that have lenses that are concave (thinner at the center than at the edges), which helps to move the focal point back onto the retina.

Astigmatism, on the other hand, occurs when the cornea or lens of the eye is not evenly curved, causing light to be focused at multiple points instead of a single point on the retina. This can cause distorted or blurry vision at any distance. Astigmatism can be corrected with eyeglasses or contact lenses that have lenses that are cylindrical (which correct the uneven curvature of the cornea or lens).
