Dr. Christian Rehwald is the medical director of the Sana MediCenter Regental. As a specialist in orthopaedics, surgery and trauma surgery, Dr. Christian Rehwald has many years of experience. His medical focus is correspondingly diverse from injuries to the musculoskeletal system, including conservative, surgical treatment of broken bones, to therapies for the treatment of diseases of the shoulder region, the knee or ankle joint, to artificial joint replacements for the hip, knee joint and shoulder. Dr. Rehwald diagnose and treat conditions of the musculoskeletal system including bones and joints and structures that enable movement such as ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves. Dr. Rehwald spend around 40% of his time in surgery and the rest in outpatient clinics, the emergency department and assessing/monitoring patients before and after surgery. This is a rewarding specialty where his work can bring rapid relief from pain and discomfort for patients. His orthopedic work includes the replacement of whole joints such as knees and hips following damage due to osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. He also treat congenital and degenerative conditions of the musculoskeletal system, often in babies and children, as well as infections and tumours.
