Dong Ho Choi

Professor Choi Dong Ho is a well-trained general surgeon who has scrutinizes his patients to diagnose and apply the most appropriate, effective, and modern medical or surgical treatment. He is fluent in all types of diagnostic biopsies, including under CT and ultrasound control and all types of laparoscopic operations for diseases of the pancreas and biliary tract, gallbladder disease, and liver cancer. Currently, Professor Choi Dong Ho is Director of the Organ Transplant Center and Head of the Research Department at Hanyang University Hospital.

Dr. Choi Dong Ho is known to be highly qualified and gained a degree from reputed educational institutes. He graduated from Hanyang University School of Medicine in 1993, and then received his master's and doctoral degrees from the same university. Also, he completed an internship in the department of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery at Washington Medical University, as well as at the National Institutes of Health at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the United States and Nagoya University in Japan. During his education, he trained by international expertise, which made him a renowned surgeon.

Throughout his professional career, he has held positions of responsibility in prestigious medical centers, such as head of the Medical Research Support Center at Hanyang University Hospital from 2014 to 2016, and served as head of the Medical Department from Hanyang hospitals from 2016 to 2018. 

Moreover, Dr. Choi is a member of the Korean Society for Transplantation, the Korean Liver Association, the Korean Society for Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, and the Korean Society for the Study of Liver Transplantation. Thanks to his talent, professionalism, and valuable skills Dr. Choi Dong Ho is a winner of such awards as:

- Korean Transplantation Society Academic Award (2003)
- Korean Transplantation Society Basic Part Academic Award (2006)
- Korean Liver Association Outstanding Oral Award (2010)
- Korean Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Surgery Academic Award (2004, 2011)
