    Dr. Hugo Katus is a heart specialist with substantial experience in the department of cardiology. He has earned several awards for his chief inputs in the cardiology department. He currently provides his services at Heidelberg University Hospital in Heidelberg, Germany. He earned his Training in Internal Medicine at the University of Heidelberg from 1976 to 1978. Dr. Hugo Katus has vast experience in treating disorders related to the heart. In 1984, he developed a cardiac-specific troponin assay. He was the first to create it. The higher performance of the marker in patients with suspected myocardial infarction was witnessed in its initial tests. Dr. Hugo Katus has his specialization in Hypertensive Heart Disease and Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He currently chairs the cardiology department and is the Chief of internal medicine at the University Hospital, Heidelberg.
