Dr. Hyuk Jae Shin is a surgeon at Myongji Hospital, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Always interested in medicine, he joined Dankook University College of Medicine after high school. After getting his medical degree, Dr Hyuk Jae Shin completed his residency at Dankook University Graduate School of Medicine and got his Master degree. While in residency, he grew an interest in the study of cancer and robotic-assisted surgeries. He took further training in robotic-assisted surgeries by completing various courses and workshops. Dr. Hyuk Jae Shin specializes in Breast Disease, whether it is infectious, benign or malignant breast disease. He has been doing breast clinics at Myongji Hospital, Gyeonggi-do, for many years. He also has a distinct clinical interest in Transaxillary robotic-assisted thyroid surgery and has performed various successful robotic surgeries. In addition to being an excellent clinical and surgeon, Dr. Hyuk Jae Shin is also keen on learning new skills and knowledge and regularly takes part in workshops and courses to stay up to date in his field. He also has an interest in research work and publications. He has published various articles in medical and surgical journals. Some of his publications include a cross-sectional study; Unmet needs and related factors of Korean breast cancer survivors: A multicenter, cross-sectional study, published in August 2019 and another article, the Robot-assisted Nipple-sparing Mastectomy with Immediate Breast Reconstruction: An Initial Experience of the Korea Robot-Endoscopy Minimal Access Breast Surgery Study Group (Korea-BSG) that was published in September 2020.
