Dr. Mustafa Oncel is a renowned professor in a general surgeon at Medipol University Hospital. He has rich experience in his profession. He is diligent and well-known in the region as well as in Turkey. Dr. Mustafa Oncel is the best of the best who gained a degree from famous institutions. He graduated from Konya Anatolian High School in 1987 and graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1993. He also completed his general surgery residency at Kartal Training and Research Hospital in 1999. He is an expert in colorectal surgery. Throughout his professional career, he has held positions of responsibility in prestigious medical centers and hospitals such as Research Assistant at the Department of Colorectal Surgery in Cleveland Clinic (Ohio, USA), 1999-2002 and thanks to his hard work, he won the "best research fellow" award at the same center. After several years of education and skills, he started to work in general surgery, especially in the areas of the colon, cancer, and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Mustafa Oncel also became an associate professor in 2004 and a professor in 2009. He worked as a clinical chief and later as an educational and administrative, who is responsible at Kartal Training and Research Hospital. He is certified in the field of Oncological Surgery in 2007 by the Turkish Ministry of Health and passed the exam organized by the European Coloproctology Board and was certified as a Colorectal Surgeon in 2007. He resigned from the civil service and started to work as the head of the Department of General Surgery at Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Medicine from 2012 till 2016. Having professional experience in his profession, he deserves a patient's trust in the region as well as Turkey. It should be mention that he authored more than 70 clinical and preclinical articles in national and international journals and books. During his career, he made over 40 presentations in various congresses and courses. He is also a member of an international association such as the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and Eurasia Coloproctology Technologies Association (founding member). He also gained several awards for his contribution to social health during his career.
