About

Dr. Nusrat Banka from the department of Dermatology & Cosmetology, is a specialist in hair and scalp disorders. She got her BSc degree from Govt. Women’s College, Kashmir, then her MBBS and MD from Manipal University, India. She is a DNB from National Board, India and has a fellowship in hair and scalp from University of British Columbia, Canada. She also received training in hair disorders at USFC, California, USA. She is a member of a number of associations including the Canadian Association of Dermatology (CAD), the North American Hair Research Society (NAHRS), the National Academy of Medical Science (NAMS), the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists & Leprologists. (IADVL) and the Association of Dermatological Surgeons of India (ADSI). Having worked in tertiary care hospitals, Dr Banka learnt a lot about diagnosis and treatment of rare skin diseases like atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, bullous disorders and autoimmune diseases with biologics. She is well-versed with laser treatments using pulse dye lasers, Q switched lasers, and Frexal for port wine stains, hemangiomas, pigmentary birth marks and acne scars. Apart from these, she performs various dermatological procedures for removal of moles, benign and malignant skin lesions and viral warts which she regularly encounters among children. Dr. Banka’s main area of interest is in hair and scalp disorders. She has in depth knowledge about various hair disorders and performs hair transplants besides running specialized hair clinics for medical problems. In cosmetic dermatology she is an expert with botox, fillers, PRP, mesotherapy and peels. She is proficient in English Kashmiri and Urdu.
