Dr. Sang Cheol Bae is a Professor at the Hanyang University Hospital. He specializes in osteoarthritis, clinical epidemiology, clinical trials and innovative treatment development, rheumatic diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. During his professional medical career, he has got many academic awards like the Distinguished Clinical Investigator Award by the Asia-Pacific League of Associations in 2008 for Rheumatology; he also got the Hanmi Proud Doctor Awards in 2010 by the Korean Medical Association and many more. Dr. Sang Cheol Bae is a member of various medical committees and associations. They are as follows: Asia-Pacific International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcome, Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics. He is a Director of the Academic Affairs Committee of the Korean Academy of Medical Sciences, an Editorial Board of Rheumatology. Dr. Sang Cheol Bae graduated in 1984 from the Hanyang University College of Medicine with a top rank in his class. Later on, he decided to pursue a Ph.D. in Internal Medicine and enrolled in the Hanyang University and obtained it in 1993. In 1998, he got an MPH degree from Harvard University School of Public Health. Dr. Sang Cheol Bae got his training at the Hanyang University Medical Center and Harvard Brigham and Women's Hospital. He dedicatedly worked as a Research Fellow and later on as an instructor there. Currently, Dr. Sang Cheol Bae is the Director of Hanyang University's Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases, the Clinical Research Center for Rheumatoid Arthritis, the Section for Clinical and Genetic Epidemiology and Economics, Hanyang University, and Institute of Rheumatology. He is a Professor of Medicine at Hanyang University.
