Dr. Shaikat Gupta is one of the best surgical oncologists in Kolkata. He has more than 20 years of experience in performing all kinds of cancer surgery. Currently, he works as the Director and Head of the Department of Surgical Oncology, Apollo Gleneagles Cancer Hospital, Kolkata. He is also a National Executive Committee Member of the Indian Association of Surgical Oncology and Secretary of the Oncological Society of Bengal. He is well known for his humane and compassionate approach, excellent surgical skills, an enormous success in curing more than ten thousand patients of cancer. He has had a brilliant academic career, having stood first in Calcutta University in MBBS and secured the University Gold Medal. He is the recipient of numerous awards during the course of his career, including the Lifetime Achievement Award, Outstanding Service to Humanity Award, and the B.C Roy Memorial Award. He also specializes in head and neck, breast, thoracic, gastrointestinal, and gynecological cancers. He trained in robotic cancer surgery from Roswell Park Cancer Centre, Buffalo, USA.
