Dr. Shantesh Kaushik is a renowned consultant cardio-thoracic & vascular surgeon at Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai. He has more than 24 years of experience and has performed and more than 7000 cardio-vascular surgeries, and has been instrumental in successfully setting up cardiology units in 6 hospitals. He has completed his MBBS and MS at General Surgery educational qualification from the B.J. Medical College Pune, MCh - Thoracic Surgery from L T Medical College Mumbai, in 1995. Dr. Kaushik is associated with Royal Melbourne Hospital (the second largest cardiothoracic center in Australia), Boston Medical Center in Boston, USA, and the Lahey Clinic, the USA to leading hospitals in India. Dr. Kaushik’s medical area is total arterial coronary revascularization, minimally invasive valve, and thoracic lung surgery, and vascular & venous surgery. He has received various awards & accolades like The Dr. Bhave Prize (Pune University) for standing second in the subject of surgery at the MBBS examination. He was also honored the Godbole Prize, the Dr. B. N. Ranade Prize, and the G.M. Phadke Prize (Pune University) for standing first at the MS (Gen. Surgery) examination (Jan 1992). Dr. Shantesh Kaushik has also conferred the Parsuram Memorial Award of the Indian Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery (IACTS) for being the best young investigator of the year 1994.
