Dr. Sun-Hyung Joo is a Professor and the Chief of General Surgery at the Kyung Hee University Hospital at Gangdong, Seoul. His specializations include kidney transplants, liver cancer, biliary tract cancer, pancreatic cancer, cholelithiasis, and robotic surgery. He's had more than 30 years of experience as a Liver Transplant Surgeon. The procedures performed by Dr Sun-Hyung Joo are HBP surgeries, treated liver and biliary tract cancer, and performed kidney transplants there. Dr. Sun-Hyung Joo obtained his MD from the School of Medicine at Kyung Hee University, Korea. After which, he went to the Ulsan University Graduate School of Medicine, Korea, to obtain an MPTh. Dr. Sun-Hyung Joo has been a research fellow at the Miami Transplant Institute, USA, for a while. He has been a co-author for the articles ‘Clinical Review of Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy in Acute Cholecystitis’, ‘Outcome of Conservative Percutaneous Cholecystostomy in High-Risk Patients with Acute Cholecystitis and Risk Factors Leading to Surgery’, and ‘Outcomes of Expanded-Criteria Deceased Donor Kidney Transplantation in a Single Center. Dr. Sun-Hyung Joo has worked as a Resident in Surgery at the Asan Medical Center. He received his clinical fellowship from the Asan Medical Center for liver transplant & HBP surgery and then got promoted to be a doctor. Dr. Sun-Hyung Joo decided to educate the young generation and started working as a Professor at the Asan Medical Center. Later on, he joined the Sung-Sim Hospital at Gangdong, Hallym University as a professor and is now working as a Professor and the Chief of the Department of General Surgery at the Kyung Hee University Hospital.
