About

The UMIT Oncological Tomotherapy Center (Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan) is the first medical center in Kazakhstan and Central Asia for cancer treatment where the most effective type of radiation therapy in the modern world—tomotherapy—is used to combat oncological neoplasms. In August 2019, the UMIT Tomotherapy Medical Center passed inspection by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and received a high quality rating. In 2021, the UMIT Oncological Tomotherapy Center passed international accreditation by the Joint Commission International (JCI) , a recognized world leader in healthcare accreditation. The Center is modeled on the best European cancer treatment clinics. The "UMIT" oncological tomotherapy center provides a wide range of medical services for modern diagnostics and early detection of malignant neoplasms with further effective complex treatment at all stages of the disease.  -Tomotherapy  -Outpatient chemotherapy  -Consultation of specialists: radiation oncologist, breast oncologist, oncology surgeon, gastroenterologist, endocrinologist, urologist, etc.  -Diagnostic services: computed tomography, mammography, all types of ultrasound examinations, endoscopy, colonoscopy  -Treatment room services The main goal of our center is to increase the availability and quality of medical care in the field of radiation therapy, reduce mortality, disability, and side effects, and improve the life quality of cancer patients in the world. For these purposes, the center has installed innovative TomoTherapy HD radiation therapy machines manufactured by the Accuray company (USA). The principles that guide our specialists in treatment selection are high-precision diagnostics, efficient treatment, and a quick return to a full-quality life. Selection of the treatment method is carried out individually for each specific case. Methods of dealing with a pathological neoplasm should be complex and combined. This will allow us to achieve the desired result with minimal harm to a patient's health. The TomoTherapy HD system is the most reliable way to fight cancer. This system is used in our center, allowing us to deliver a radiation dose to a tumor at any angle, regulate the radiation intensity, and protect maximally the tissues and organs adjacent to the tumor. Tomotherapy can be effective when other treatment methods have failed. The TomoTherapy HD machine fights against oncological neoplasms and is able to have an effect even on tumors that are resistant to surgical treatment or located in hard-to-reach places; tumors of any size, shape, and localization. Tomotherapy allows us to perform an effective treatment while minimally affecting healthy tissues. This helps to avoid severe side effects and improve the quality of life of patients. The creation of the TomoTherapy machine has led to the emergence of a new concept – "tomotherapy". TomoTherapy is a unique system that combines a computed tomography scanner and a linear electron accelerator. Tomotherapy is a spiral radiation therapy performed on a TomoTherapy HD machine. The TomoTherapy HD machine allows treating a tumor of any localization, both malignant and benign, as well as simultaneously treating several localizations, based on indications and contraindications for radiation therapy. Treatment is performed under daily control (built-in CT scanner) of a tumor location in a patient's body. The Tomotherapy Center employs a highly qualified staff (oncologists, radiation oncologists, medical physicists, nurses) with experience in radiation therapy. Here in the center, you can consult on the need for radiation therapy, in particular tomotherapy, treatment options, course duration, and get a referral for the treatment.
