El Gouna had started as one man’s search to find the most beautiful spot on the seaside to build a house and small boat jetty. Twenty five years ago Samih Sawiris, chairman of Orascom Development, El Gouna’s parent company, found that beautiful spot, conveniently located just north of Hurghada on the west coast of the Red Sea. It wasn’t long before Sawiris’ friends, struck by the splendor of the azure waters and dramatic backdrop of mountains, asked to join him, and the town slowly blossomed into the vibrant community that it is today. ▪️Intensive Care Unit The ICU is a multidisciplinary facility with advanced cardiac and respiratory life support for critical medical, cardiac and surgical cases. The ICU is equipped with the latest technology including: infusion and syringe pumps, beside monitors, DC shock, portable X-ray machine, ventilators, monitors and a blood gas machine. The ICU provides a completely sterile environment filled with natural light to harness the healing properties of the red sea’s beautiful environment. ▪️Accident and Emergency Elgouna hospital’s accident and emergency department is equipped to treat medical and surgical emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week Specially trained personal and physicians in key specialties are permanently on staff.
