THE CARE OF SANA A total of 339 nursing staff are employed at the Lausitzer Seenland Klinikum. In addition to nurses, intensive care nurses, pediatric nurses and anesthesiologists as well as numerous other experts take care of the patients. With more than 9,200 nursing staff and a further 3,300 people in functional services, nursing in the 52 hospitals that Sana runs nationwide represents the largest occupational group within the group. In total, more than 2.2 million people are treated in the hospitals. The care of the Sana stands for a technically competent, evidence-based, human-oriented comprehensive care of the patients. Therefore, in addition to professional competence, human closeness and empathy play an important role at Sana. Experienced staff work at Sana, and at the same time, our own junior nurses are trained in 14 nursing schools - including in the medical vocational school at the Lausitzer Seenland Klinikum. All employees have access to a wide range of training and further education opportunities specific to and across locations. QUALITY AND RISK MANAGEMENT What we value Successful medicine and high-quality care are characterized by high quality. If you, as a patient or relative, want to find out more about us and our hospital, the complex question of quality is rightly of great importance. Various dimensions play a role here: do we achieve the best possible medical result for and with our patients? Do we actively involve our patients and their relatives in important diagnostic and therapeutic decisions? Do we avoid pain and radiation exposure? Are we careful with antibiotics? – just to name a few questions. At Sana, quality is not only measured when a patient is discharged. Rather, at various points from admission to far beyond discharge, care is taken to ensure that the specifications defined by the legislator and our own quality criteria, which in many cases correspond to higher standards, are observed. This measurement is not just random, but permanent. Every individual value, every result - and thus every potential deviation - is measured, registered and tracked. You can read numerous results of our quality efforts and extensive information on our range of services in the current quality report, as required by law for all hospitals in Germany. However, you will find further and interesting quality information on our website. We are aware that dealing with the content is quite a challenge and sometimes requires interpretation.
