The Fertimated Center is historically one of the first centers of assisted reproduction established in the Czech Republic and can boast more than twenty years of tradition in the field of assisted reproduction and several thousand births. The company annually performs up to 500 IVF cycles with a high success rate and many other methods of diagnosis and treatment of infertility. Although FERTIMED deals mainly with infertility treatment, it also provides outpatient gynecological care, medical genetics, laboratory services in medical genetics, one-day surgery, and prenatal diagnosis. Infertility treatment over the past twenty years has significantly increased the chance of having a child, even for couples with fertility disorders. The genetic department focuses on the detection of congenital malformations of the fetus and genetic counseling before conception or during the attempt to become pregnant. Hysteroscopy Hysteroscopy is a method that allows visualization of the uterine cavity and minor procedures in the cavity and cervix. Abortion Artificial termination of pregnancy can be performed until the end of the first trimester, i.e., until the 12th week of pregnancy. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and is not covered by health insurance companies. Curettage and revision of the uterine cavity Curettage is a gynecological procedure during which the uterine lining is partially removed and the cavity is cleaned. Puncture of the cyst Most ovarian cysts are "functional cysts" and are only a slight deviation from the proper functioning of the ovaries. If they do not disappear on their own within 1-3 months of formation, we perform a puncture. Labiaplasty Surgery on the external genital organs of a woman, which leads to a reduction of the labia while preserving their typical architecture. It is also possible to perform modeling so that their sizes are the same. Laparoscopy Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive method in which we introduce instruments through thin punctures in the abdominal wall. It will allow you to perform procedures in the abdominal cavity. INFERTILITY TREATMENT OPTIONS IVF In vitro fertilization is the basic method of assisted reproduction in which the egg is fertilized outside the woman's body in laboratory conditions (in vitro). After fertilization, the egg is cultured and, after a few days, transferred to the uterus or vitrified. Native cycle This is an IVF cycle where no hormonal drugs are administered before oocyte collection. This method of artificial insemination marked the beginning of assisted reproduction. Intrauterine insemination Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a less demanding method of assisted reproduction without the need for the application of stimulant drugs or undergoing general anesthesia. Specially prepared spermatozoa are introduced into the uterine cavity using a catheter. This is a minimally invasive procedure. Part of the infertility treatment at the FERTIMED Center is also a consultation with a medical geneticist, who, before starting treatment, performs an interview with the treated couple in order to collect the necessary medical history, on the basis of which he determines and indicates laboratory genetic tests. These tests help to determine the risk of the most common hereditary genetic diseases in the treated couple, and the aim is to prevent the birth of a child with congenital malformations. Standard tests include thrombophilic mutations, peripheral blood karyotypic testing, cystic fibrosis detection, and the risk of muscular atrophy. FERTIMED Center also offers the possibility of consultation with a geneticist to clients outside of IVF indications, e.g., with indications for the examination of so-called autoimmune diseases or intolerances. SOME OF THE LABORATORY METHODS ICSI and PICSI Micromanipulation methods in which the sperm is directly introduced into the egg using micropipettes. This is a performance that increases the success of the fertilization of the egg. Extended cultivation and embryoscope A method that allows embryos to be cultured for up to 120 hours and thus select embryos with the highest potential for implantation (nesting) in the uterus. Its implementation is advantageously combined with special monitoring of the embryo using the embryoscope. Fertile Plus (ZyMot Multi) Fertile Plus (ZyMot Multi) is a chemical-free sperm sorting method using a single-use chip. It is based on the principle of natural sperm selection by passing through microbarriers imitating the natural environment of the fallopian tubes. Sorted sperm are sperm with better morphology and genetic quality. They also show more than twice the viability and motility of those eliminated by sorting. PGT PGT is pre-implantation genetic testing and is used to detect possible genetic defects in the fetus. It is performed before the embryo is transferred to the uterus. With its help, we are able to select embryos with the best potential to implant in the uterus and practically exclude the presence of defects associated with a different number of chromosomes. Using PGT, it is also possible to rule out the presence of defects that are genetically determined and occur in partners in the form of diseases or their transmission (cystic fibrosis, hemophilia, BRCA gene mutations, etc.). Testing is covered by most health insurance companies. FERTIMED center is also having donations program such as egg donor. A healthy woman between the ages of 18 and 33 can become an egg donor. They donate their eggs to women who would not be able to get pregnant without them. For sperm donors, healthy men aged 18–38 with at least a high school education can become sperm donors. They must also meet strict criteria and have negative test results, which include a set of information about their health and the health of their family members, detailed genetic and hormonal tests, and tests to rule out infectious diseases. Since 1/12/2019, we have been providing comprehensive services for clients suffering from sexual problems. Both women and men can come to our specialized outpatient clinic. FERTIMED Center deals with the treatment and diagnosis of erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, loss of sexual appetite, pain during intercourse, or problems in which sexual intercourse cannot occur at all. Last but not least, you can also contact us with partner disagreements in the sexual area. It applies to both our branches, Olomouc and Umperk.
