About
Sana Klinikum Niederlausitz - Lauchhammer clinic site, provides you with a wide range of services. They work closely with the health facilities in the region. Specialist departments of the hospital work across disciplines and thus ensure optimal care for the patients in the Lauchhammer Clinic. The well-being of the patients is their concern. For this they use the latest medical technology, professional competence, up-to-date knowledge and personal motivation. MEDICAL FOCUS AT THE LAUCHHAMMER SITE General and Visceral Surgery The Clinic for General and Visceral Surgery (Ward 3) in Lauchhammer has 32 beds and an additional five IMC (Intermediate Care) beds for patients requiring care and monitoring . The clinic sees itself as one of the central departments and is therefore one of the core competencies of the Klinikum Niederlausitz. The focus of their work, general and visceral surgery, is the treatment of diseases of the abdominal organs, in particular tumor diseases, liver, pancreas, stomach, intestine, rectal diseases and endocrine diseases (thyroid diseases and diseases of the adrenal glands). They always try to choose the gentlest procedure for you (e.g. minimally invasive surgery). They no longer perform complex interventions on the esophagus and pancreas that fall under the minimum volume regulation. Together with internal medicine, they work together on an interdisciplinary basis in the treatment of oncological patients. In addition to medical quality, human attention and an optimal flow of information for their patients and resident colleagues are the focus of their work philosophy. GYNECOLOGY AND OBSTETRICS CLINIC The clinic for gynecology and obstetrics has a total of 25 beds on two wards, each with a focus on obstetrics and gynecology. They are at your side before, during and after the birth of your child with many offers of advice and support. Their equipment includes the delivery room with 3 birthing beds, a monitoring bed, a resuscitation table for newborns and an incubator, a urodynamic measuring station, a sono device and CTG devices. In the field of gynaecology, they carry out qualified and comprehensive surgical and drug treatments. PSYCHOSOCIAL HEALTH The Center for Psychosocial Health sees itself as a modern regional therapy center with a community-based social-psychiatric focus. For almost all mental illnesses, the treatment chain is maintained on an outpatient, semi-stationary and inpatient basis for integrative care. People affected by a mental disorder receive an individual offer of help tailored to their needs with flexible and well-coordinated transitions between the treatment areas. The comprehensive training of their employees in combination with modern technical equipment enables them to care for their patients according to the latest standards in their field. Currently, all doctors have the specialist level, their ward and surgical care team has many years of experience and specialization in the field of urology. The manageable size of their house enables them to successfully combine the achievements of modern medical science with the concept of individual medicine and thus to find a "tailor-made" solution for each of their patients, which is compatible with their state of health, age, individual and social needs in line. In the Urology Clinic, they use minimally invasive surgical procedures (laparoscopy or keyhole surgery) where it makes medical sense. This technique enables video-assisted surgery with only 5 to 10 mm thick instruments through correspondingly small incisions and is still offered to a very limited extent in many urological clinics. In addition to faster recovery, better cosmetic effects and rapid reintegration into everyday professional and social life, the avoidance of major incisions also enables advantages such as a lower need for blood supplies and pain medication in the case of major operations and the avoidance of swollen stomachs, abdominal wall hernias or sagging of the abdomen abdominal muscles, In cases in which the use of keyhole surgery does not appear to make sense from a medical point of view (large or unfavorably localized kidney tumors, locally advanced bladder tumors), the procedures of so-called major tumor surgery are used, completed by appropriate steps to restore the urinary tract (including urinary diversion after bladder removal). Bladder replacement from isolated intestinal segments). The top priority is to save or maximally prolong the life of the patient while maintaining an acceptable quality of life. Every surgical intervention and the subsequent treatment is always a teamwork of specialists from different medical areas that is coordinated down to the smallest detail. In order to achieve this goal in the best possible way and for your well-being, they work in close contact both with their resident colleagues and with the other clinics in their house (anaesthesia, radiology, surgery, women's clinic, internal medicine). A patient survey by the AOK that has already taken place showed an above-average level of patient satisfaction after a stay in their clinic. Their team will continue to do their best to meet patient’s expectations. PEDIATRICS At the Clinic for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine in Lauchhammer, they look after children and adolescents up to the age of 18. Depending on the clinical picture, treatment is carried out in cooperation with other specialist departments of the Klinikum Niederlausitz. They admit around 1,800 inpatients every year. Their spectrum includes all sub-areas of pediatric and adolescent medicine, with the exception of oncological diseases and the care of very immature premature babies (less than 32 weeks of pregnancy). Their clinic has 25 beds. It was inaugurated in 2003 and is designed according to the motto "The world is round". Whether patient room or lounge, their theme was imaginatively implemented everywhere. Integrative work with parents is a matter of course for them: parents have the opportunity to live in the child's room and are actively involved in the treatment process. A special feature of their clinic is the behavioral therapy work according to the IntraActPlus concept. In a one-week interaction therapy, they work on attention, interaction and learning disorders as well as physical contact blockages. Patients and parents train new behavior patterns together using video diagnostics and can follow their daily progress on the image. INSTITUTE OF RADIOLOGY AND NEURORADIOLOGY The task of the institute is to provide the patients of the clinic with imaging procedures at a high level of performance. They can also examine you as an outpatient. They have modern equipment in friendly and bright rooms. The entire radiology is digitized, which means that all examinations are made, reported and archived digitally. The findings are also archived electronically using our modern radiology management system. CLINIC FOR GERIATRICS AND DAY CLINIC In their clinic, they treat elderly patients on two wards with a total of 60 beds whose mobility is restricted by acute and chronic illnesses and their independence is therefore threatened. A multi-professional team of specialists, nursing staff, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech therapists and social workers specially qualified for geriatrics is available for this purpose. All patients receive an individual and holistic diagnostic and therapy concept, in which mental, emotional and social problems are taken into account in addition to physical complaints. The aim of their treatment, in addition to treating the acute illness, is to improve the patient’s living situation and maintain the greatest possible degree of independence, if possible in the home environment while maintaining self-determination and dignity. For patients who do not need a 24-hour medical check-up, their day clinic with twelve places is an attractive alternative to a hospital stay. SPEECH THERAPY Speech therapy is the diagnosis and therapy of language, speech, voice and swallowing disorders. The aim of treatment for disorders in language processing and programming is to produce and understand spoken and written language again. In the case of disorders of speech motor skills, movement planning and control as well as vocalization, the focus is on improving the quality and comprehensibility of speech. If the ability to swallow is impaired, speech therapy tries to prevent food from entering the airways, for example by changing posture, special swallowing techniques and adjusting the consistency of food. Paralysis of the face and tongue caused by damage to the cranial nerves is treated using various stimulation techniques and movement exercises.
